The Trickster

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Trickster is a person who performs pranks. Not only just pranks but being foolish or sometimes even being deceitful to those around him or her even the ones closest. Each and every trickster has their own personal goal or benefit. Some just for fun, others for self gain, and some for personal reason. With the story of Hermes he uses his thinking to fool Apollo and leading him on a journey for his cows. At the end he fooled Apollo into trading for better gifts then what he was giving to Apollo. This had to be the best trickster for his way of fooling Apollo for self interest and gain. Krishna fooled the girls into worshiping him and doing as he please. He did this trick out of self interest which was kind of odd. The story of the Old Man Coyote was about an old coyote turned into a young buffalo calf thanks to a Buffalo. When coming across an old coyote he tried to help the same way the buffalo did. He failed since he forgotten that he was not given the powers but just the look of a calf. Lastly was Legba who was closed to god but was able to fool the villagers into going against God. Making them thinking God was a thief.
