The Mountain and The City

The Mountain represent an area with historical or mythical events took place. Most of these places contain getting knowledge from a higher being. The city represent the people who are far from god since they are not high up like the mountains. It is where things came into play and made historical moments. For the mountain it is where God has given Moses the Ten Commandments. From there Moses spread word of God for being the one and only true god and to follow his instructions to remain civilized and good with one another. For the city of Troy is where trickery was played and came to advantage. It is where the Greeks hid themselves in a wooden horse and the Trojans were convinced it was a peace offering. Once in the city the Greeks has open the gates for their army and rampage the city of Troy. Next is the city Jerusalem that was the holiest place on earth. It has fallen to isolation it was a city once known to Jews, Muslims, and Christians. For this place later to be claimed throne to

The Conception

The conception first thing to come to mind is to conceive of a child and to give birth and raise him or her. For most of these stories the mothers of these gods, demigods, and heroes were originally virgins. Some were visited by higher being and who were impregnated and given birth to heroes. There were some who were adopted and given power like the story of Moses from the bible. The story of the Water Jar Boy to me had a great story. His mother was impregnated by clay and thought to give birth to a child but instead of jar. She raised him and then one day the Jar grew old and asked his grandfather to go on a hunt with him. At first the grandfather thought not to because he was only a jar with no human features but brought him any ways. Eventually the jar had stumbled and broke and released from the jar was a human boy. He convince his family it was him who was originally the jar. The jar then asked about the where about of his father and went on a journey to find him. He eventually fo

The Trickster

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Trickster is a person who performs pranks. Not only just pranks but being foolish or sometimes even being deceitful to those around him or her even the ones closest. Each and every trickster has their own personal goal or benefit. Some just for fun, others for self gain, and some for personal reason. With the story of Hermes he uses his thinking to fool Apollo and leading him on a journey for his cows. At the end he fooled Apollo into trading for better gifts then what he was giving to Apollo. This had to be the best trickster for his way of fooling Apollo for self interest and gain. Krishna fooled the girls into worshiping him and doing as he please. He did this trick out of self interest which was kind of odd. The story of the Old Man Coyote was about an old coyote turned into a young buffalo calf thanks to a Buffalo. When coming across an old coyote he tried to help the same way the buffalo did. He failed since he forgotten that

The Apocalypse Norse Ragnarok

Norse Ragnarok is said to be one of the best known apocalyptic stories ever told. In the reading it is shown that their will be a rise of darkness at the beginning. Winter storms that will come with no sun to help. People fighting wars just for gain, and turning on family killing them. There will also be destruction brought forth to earth by the gods' enemies. After all of the destruction has come to an end there will be a renewal in life. So much chaos will be happening and people will be turning on each other. First a wolf will rise to rid of the sun and consume the earth while a serpent follows poisoning the earth. The gods will come to fend off these enemies in order to save the world. Both sides the gods and the enemies will kill each other in this great horrific battle. Barely anyone will survive this battle. When years pass the world will be new again with some light in it still some good and some bad as well. This story really shows how when hope is lost that people are wil
